Youth and Crime: A Dilemma
By Mehreen on Jul 21, 2009
The percentage of crimes is increasing in our country day by day. The culprits are mostly the young boys and girls. Recently, one of my colleagues happened to go through an incident, but Thank God she was lucky enough to get out of.
She went out for shopping in Commercial Market, Rawalpindi with her kid. When she was to sit in her car, a boy of age 16-17 came to her and told her that somebody hit her car on the back while she was shopping and it’s broken. He asked her to come out and have a look as the damage is critical and it may need some repair. When she came out and went at the back to see the damage, she couldn’t find any. Mean while the guy and his partner tried to take her bag out of the car as the door was open. But she happened to notice that and she shouted, what are you doing? Both the guy got frightened and they ran away and disappeared in no time.
She tried to look for policeman but couldn’t find any. This is just one story; there are many others stories of youth (girls and boys) being involved in criminal activities like mobile theft etc. This is what our youth doing now-a-days. So, here is the piece of advice for you especially females, please be careful and don’t trust anyone and don’t let anyone come near to you. And for parents please do ask you children what activities they are involved in, keep a check on what they are doing. As a nation it is out responsibility to protect our youth from all these transgressions.
