Pakistan 62nd Birthday – Happy Independence Day!
Thu, Aug 13, 2009
Today is the 62nd Birthday of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. How much we valued this freedom? How much we could understand the meanings of Freedom? What we did to keep this freedom protected? These questions are important and every year, to fulfill the formality, these are discussed on this day. Leave these issues apart; we are yet unable to understand how we should celebrate Our Independence Day.
On August 14, Pakistani youth comes out of their homes and take out the silencers from the motor bikes and ‘celebrate Independence Day’ by tearing others’ ears from the noise of their motor bikes. Some people enjoy the loud music and some of them start a circus with their cars. They all seem stupid and illiterate but they think they look cool (pity on them).
Other people including house wives also do not give attention to this day and watch TV all day long and enjoy the ‘holiday’. Kids show excitement on this event but they are not encouraged by their parents.
Civilized nations celebrate their Independence Day with honor, excitement and complete interest. We should also celebrate our Independence Day with enthusiasm, honor, and courtesy. What we can do to enjoy this day? Well…this is simple. You can rearrange your house setting, put some lights on the walls, and clean your house, make a special meal, put a flag on the roof of your house, etc. etc. etc.
Start your morning with Fajr Prayer and pray for Pakistan’s Sovereignty, solidarity, prosperity and success. In the afternoon, rise the flag of Pakistan. At the occasion, pray for Pakistan and people of Pakistan. If possible, conduct a small get together where kids sing national songs. If you can’t do all this, still no worries, you can just clean your house and wear clean clothes. The purpose behind is same, showing the royalty and passion for Pakistan. Do not forget to put down the flag before the sun sets and place it in a safe place with respect.
I would like to wind up the article with a pray for Pakistan and her people.
“Allah karay k meri Arz-e-Pak pe utre wo fasl-e-gul jisay Andesha-e-Zawal na ho. Yahan jo phool khilain wo khile rahain barsun! Yahn khizan ko guzarney ki bhi Majal na ho. Khuda Karey k mere ik bhi hum watan k lye Hayat jurm na ho, zindagi wabal na ho.”
Happy Independence Day to All of You!
