Islamabad, Wednesday, August 05, 2009: Babar Iqbal a young genius cyber kid was on Tuesday honored by the National Assembly in Islamabad where he had been invited for a session at the Lower House of Parliament. Babar is the world’s youngest Microsoft professional.

The 12-year old youngster from Dera Ismail Khan was given a place on the visitor’s gallery of parliament. Introducing the boy to the MNAs, the Minister for Parliament Affairs Dr. Babar Awan praised the boy for his great achievement which he said is an honor to the entire nation. He went ahead to state that Microsoft founder Bill Gates had personally recognized the boy’s unique potential and had offered him a chance to become a member of Microsoft Corporation.

Babar has set four world records in the computer and Information Technology fields. Apart from being the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) he holds other various certifications. He is a Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) which he attained while aged 9, Certified Web Professional Associate (CIWA) that he got at age 10. At the age of 12, he participated in a Dubai competition where he became the youngest Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). The most amazing thing is that this competition was actually open to persons aged 20-35.

“The boy in this age has won laurels for the country and deserves appreciation and encouragement,” said Dr. Babar Awan.

The government was urged to ensure that Babar and others with similar potential got the best education by offering them scholarships to further their studies. Some who gave their remarks included MNAs Prince Mohiyuiddin, Khurshid Shah Sheikh Aftab, Dr. Doniya Aziz and Maulana Fazlur Rehman among others.
