Recently, Pakistan’s Space Program 2040 has been approved by the PM that is set to achieve national milestones in space technology for Pakistan. Also, just a few weeks back SUPARCO’s PAK SAT – 1R was launched into space with the help of China, which is Pakistan’s first orbiting satellite. It will help enhance our understanding of communication satellite manufacturing technology. There are many Pakistani engineers working alongside Chinese counterparts to learn more about satellite development.
The Pakistani government has been supporting the space programme in whatever capacity it could. Space technology can also help in the socio-economic development of the country as well as provide better security for the nation. The PM has promised that the Institute of Space Technology will be given funds of Rs.100 million for the welfare of the students in two installments, one in the current financial year and the other one in the next financial year.
There are so many opportunities for the graduates of space technology both nationally and internationally in various fields. Space Technology applications are being used in communication, environmental studies, agriculture, water and disaster management and mitigation, and national security. The employment rate for the students of IST is very high due to its high standard of education. The new graduates should work towards the development of the nation in this sector too.
