Pakistan Takes Part in the Gitex Technology Week 2011

Pakistan will be participating for the first time at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) which starts from 9 October and will end on 13 October. The event will host 130,000 industry professionals from all around the world and 3,500 suppliers, giving an opportunity for sharing latest technological innovations. This year’s theme is “Redefine the Future”, which will be covered by the participants drawing further investment prospects for the Middle East. The CEO of the Dubai World Trade Centre, Helal Saeed Almarri, who is the organiser of the even said,

“Gitex Technology Week, after more than three decades in operation, continues to attract the industry’s leading ICT exhibitors and attendees from around the world. Technology is an ever-evolving industry and the Middle East is increasingly becoming both more influential and more lucrative in the global ICT business arena.”

The other new countries at the event are Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malta and Morocco. Pakistan will be having its own national pavillion at the event for the first time. Bangladesh, Italy, Lebanon, Palestine, Scotland and Spain are also participating with their respective national pavillions for the first time as well.

There will be leading international ICT companies launching their new products for the first time in the region through Gitex Technology Week. These ICT companies include Microsoft’s Office 365 and System Centre 2012 and Azure, Nokia’s N9 smartphone, Panasonic’s Solar Powered IP CCTV and Home Energy Management System (HEMS), RIM’s Bold 9900, Symantec’s Endpoint Protection 12 (cloud security), the new Tablet PC from Touchmate amongst other things. Oracle will make its 21st appearance at the event with live demonstrations of its latest products.
