Mobilink Reinstate BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) with Content Filtering Solution

Mobilink has developed and implemented an innovative content-filtering solution to reinstate internet services for the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS).

The initiative by Mobilink allows subscribers to fully access the internet, including social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, using their mobile devices. Omar Manzur, Director PR & CSR, highlighted, “Customer satisfaction is an essential driver at Mobilink, and this content filtering soultion is our initiative to restore full functionality of internet services for our valued customers, while maintaining PTA regulations.”

Mobilink pioneered the provision of BlackBerry services in Pakistan in 2005. The service had been partially blocked in 2010 following directives from the PTA to block social networking sites and other websites that contained blasphemous content.

Pakistan wins Jazz Cup 2012 Test Series against England

Mobilink extends congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team on its test series win over England in the Jazz Cup 2012 being held in the UAE.

Jazz partnered with the Pakistan Cricket Board to organize ‘The Mobilink Jazz Cup 2012’ in the United Arab Emirates as the home series for Pakistan. The two tests held so far have provided an impressive exhibition of teamwork, commendable leadership by Misbah ul Haq, and sterling performances by both batsmen and bowlers alike, with the spinners Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman being the most notable.

Mobilink’s 5th Club Indigo Golf Invitational gets positive endorsement from Karachi’s corporate sector

Mobilink inaugurated the 5th annual Club Indigo Golf Invitational, with the first leg of the tournament organized at the Karachi Golf Club.

The one day tourney in Karachi attracted over 100 amateur golfers, representing a diverse segment of Karachi’s corporate and business sector, making for a well competed event, providing healthy entertainment and promoting golf in Pakistan. Mobilink has concluded the first Artpad competition, with Muhammad Osama of Karachi winning this first-of-its-kind digital media initiative, which challenged the artistic skills and creativity of Pakistan’s online community.
